Over 30,000 Noruz travelers provided with rescue, relief services

TEHRAN – The Iranian Red Crescent Society has provided more than 30,000 travelers with rescue and relief services since the beginning of a national plan for the new year (Noruz) holidays.

The plan started on March 15, Vahid Salimi, an official with the IRCS said, adding that a total of 1,763 operations were conducted by the third day of the new year (March 23), ISNA reported.

Of the total cases, 896 were related to road accidents, he added.

Meanwhile, 2,164 people were given emergency accommodation and 726 people were transferred to medical centers.

The highest rates of services were provided respectively in the provinces of Mazandaran, Isfahan, and Fars, he noted.
